Many peoples first response
to their world record was that it must take a lot of luck to catch such
a fish. A little research will reveal that they now have 5 of the possible
9 (pending and confirmed) IGFA world records for rainbow trout. These
were all caught in 2006 and 2007. Their extensive research of the area
and knowledge of these fish has enabled them to land several hundred
rainbows over 20 pounds (not to mention the 30’s) in the last
two seasons. Now on nearly every outing they land several fish of this
size (all of which are released). The moral to this story is that there
is obviously very little luck involved in their recent fishing accomplishments.
They have developed a system that produces fish of this magnitude consistently
time after time.
Since we have exclusive guiding
rights to this area, hiring Adam and Sean as our guides was the next
obvious step. Working with these two enthusiastic young guys has truly
been a pleasure. Not only do they love fishing for giant rainbows but
they also take great pleasure in watching others reel them in. It was
obvious from the start that they were as interested as we are in providing
a top notch experience to our clients. Their professionalism on the
lake and true passion and respect for these fish is evident in the way
they handle them. Having had the opportunity to fish with the Konrads
now on numerous occasions and iron out all the details, we now have
our guiding program in place to begin in May of 2008.
We will only be offering
a limited number of trips in 2008 (about 2 per month). Please contact
us soon for pricing and availability if you’re interested in being
one of our first clients to ever experience trophy fishing of this calibre.

We will only accommodate
between two and four fishermen at one time to ensure a quality experience.
Our trips are priced per person on a sliding scale so as more people
join your group, the cost of everyone’s trip goes down. Preference
will be given to groups of four.
Single fishermen will only
be booked if they can be paired up with another partial group and will
be charged accordingly to the total number of group members.
All our trips begin on Friday
and are either two or three nights in duration.
Included in the price is
airport pick-up at Saskatoon International Airport, meals and lodging
at camp, guiding services, vehicle and/or boat transportation, fish
filleting and packaging, rod, reel, and tackle use, and bait.
Not included in the price
is airfare to Saskatoon, Goods and Services Tax, fishing license, &
taxidermy.
A 50% deposit is required
to secure your booking with the balance due 21 days prior to your trip.
We require all clients to
sign a fishing trip contract detailing the dates, price, and terms under
which the trip is being offered. No trip is considered booked until
the deposit is paid and the contract is returned.
To ensure long term sustainability
of the fishery, this is a catch and release fishing trip. The only fish
that can be kept are ones that are hurt too bad to survive and maybe
a smaller one for the BBQ.
